ADVERTISER FAQs
Q. What is Cost-Per-Action (CPA) advertising?
A. CPA refers to an advertising model whereby you, the advertiser, only pays when an “action” is completed. There are two types of action: Cost-Per-Sale (CPS), when a sale is completed, or Cost-Per-Lead (CPL), when a lead is generated. A lead can take on many forms, such as signing up for a newsletter, subscribing to a free trial of a product or service, completing a form or survey, or entering a contest. The key benefit of CPA advertising is that absolutely no costs are incurred by you, the advertiser, until such time that an “action” is completed. This is what is known as true pay-for-performance marketing.
Q. How does the program work?
A. Here are the basic steps that break down our pay-for-performance marketing model:
1. Interested buyers search the Internet and become exposed to your products and/or services.
2. Buyers click on ads distributed by Opie Network’s high-quality publishers.
3. When an action is completed – depending on whether your campaign action is CPS or CPL - Opie Network’s tracking system records these campaign results in real-time.
4. Your sales (CPS) or leads (CPL) funnel is filled with new opportunities to help you grow your business from multiple publisher sources.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. As mentioned above, you only pay when an action is completed. Each advertiser sets their own dollar amount for the CPA campaign, whether it based on leads (CPL) or sales (CPS). If you are unsure about what method to choose or what to pay publishers, our dedicated team can assist in not only helping you determine a reasonable price, but also the ways in which you promote the campaign.
Q. How do I promote my campaign?
A. The most popular way to promote campaigns is through banners, text links, email, and search marketing. If you require creative assistance, for example in designing banners or marketing copy, Opie Network’s creative services team can assist.
Q: How does campaign tracking work?
A: Opie Network used timed cookies and tracking links associated with each advertiser campaign and publisher, in order to accurately track all traffic and record real-time actions for each account.
Q. How do I measure results?
A. Our real-time, web-based reporting ensures that you are always up to date on the performance of your chosen campaigns. Stay informed with the ability to log in to access reports anywhere, anytime!

Q. How does the program work?
A. Here are the basic steps that break down our pay-for-performance marketing model:
1. Interested buyers search the Internet and become exposed to advertisers’ products and/or services via publisher-generated content and marketing.
2. Buyers click on ads distributed by Opie Network’s high-quality publishers.
3. When an action is completed – depending on whether the campaign action is CPS or CPL - Opie Network’s tracking system records these campaign results in real-time.
4. Publishers are paid for every action (CPS or CPL) generated for campaigns. It’s a win-win situation: Advertisers gain sales or leads, thereby growing their business, and publishers earn cold hard cash for bringing in those sales or leads!
Q. Help! I’m new to this and am still not sure what I need to do to make money!
A. If you have any questions about how CPA marketing works, feel free to give us a call and a Publisher Services Representative will be happy to help. Some ways that you can benefit from CPA marketing is by placing banners or contextual ads on your website. You then earn money each time a visitor completes the required action that corresponds to that campaign.
For example: If the advertiser is running a Cost Per Sale (CPS) campaign, when a visitor on your site clicks on the ad for that campaign that you have placed on your site, they are then taken to the advertiser’s site. If they buy the product or service being advertised, a CPS action has been completed and you are then paid.
Another way that you can earn money is by sending offers to your email lists if, for example, you have a subscription-based newsletter.
Q. How do I find campaigns to promote?
A. Opie Network’s publisher interface gives you fully-searchable access to all open campaigns. Also, during the signup process you are also asked what topic areas/industries you are involved with, so that we can send you new offers that will be of the most interest to you.
Q: How does campaign tracking work?
A: Opie Network used timed cookies and tracking links associated with each advertiser campaign and publisher, in order to accurately track all traffic and record real-time actions for each account.
Q. How do I track my results?
A. Opie Network’s publisher interface provides web-based tracking, meaning that you can log in anytime, from any web browser to monitor and manage your results.
Q: Why wasn’t I approved as a publisher?
A: Opie Network is committed to bringing together the best advertisers and the best publishers, and as such, we have a very detailed approval process that we follow for each approval. If your application was not approved and you feel that this was in error, please contact us and we will be happy to review the decision.
